Throughout the years, it was realised that onsite sanitation can only be developed successfully when it is seen as a 'Business', when it constantly innovates and works on financial solutions. Hence, the Netherlands focused, supported and piloted:
- marketing, see for instance video 1 and video 2
- business development (AKVO, A4A)
- innovations such as the use of additives (see reports 1 and 2), worm toilets, briquette making and BSF
- financing for example through Take a Stake.
